As you may or may not know, NDP MP Bill Siksay introduced a bill into parliament in May of this year; this bill would amend the Canadian Human Rights Act [CHRA] and Canadian Criminal Code to include gender identity and gender expression as prohibited forms of discrimination in Canada. It would also amend the Criminal Code of Canada to include crimes based on gender identity and gender expression under the 'hate crime' designation:
